JACK OBLIVIAN'S - Rat City LP (Big Legal Mess Rec.) 15,90 EUR
Though he doesn’t get the attention of his OBLIVIANS bandmate Greg Cartwright, Jack Yarber, aka Jack Oblivian, has a growing catalog of strong recordings as well, of which ''Rat City'' is the latest. Yarber’s mojo works in much the same vein as his compadre’s, with a similar emphasis on garage R&B (the title tune, “Caboose Jump,” Slim Green‘s “Old Folks Boogie”) and no-frills Pop (“Girl On the Beach,” “Jealous Heart,” “Girl With the Bruises”) that sounds like Mink DeVille with a $20 budget. He also adds some mild psychedelia with “Moses and Me” and a cheeky yet reverent cover of Billy Swan‘s “Lover Please!” Working with a variety of musicians (including fellow traveler John Paul Keith), Yarber eschews fancy production or any kind of slick veneer – every tune sounds like he and the musicians set up in whatever room was available and just went for it. On top of all the other goodies on display here, Yarber’s plainspoken rasp fits every song perfectly. ''Rat City'' may s ound ominous in its title, but it’s definitely a cool town.

JACK OF HEART - In Yer Mouth CD (Born Bad Rec.) 13,90 EUR

JACUZZI BOYS - Glazin' LP (Hardly Art Rec.) 15,90 EUR
Garage rock was never an album's game, and-- in the midst of yet another revival-- that hasn't changed. Scuzzbucket strum and teenage truth will always fare far better as short, sharp shocks; then as now, the impact of a song like the Seeds' mighty "Pushin' Too Hard" is dulled by the half-dozen soundalikes on the LP from whence it came. Good as many of them are, that this new crop has yet to produce a truly classic LP isn't terribly surprising-- the song's the thing, cohesion's almost antithetical. So it is with Floridian up-and-comers Jacuzzi Boys' sophomore set, Glazin': five fine 45s masquerading as a fun, slight 10-song LP.

JACUZZI BOYS - No Seasons LP (Floridas Dying Rec.) 15,50 EUR

JAPANISCHE KAMPFHÖRSPIELE / KILLER (EA80) Split-7" (Beau Travail Rec.) 6,90 EUR
Distorted and pissed in weniger als zwei Minuten.
English review:
Following the KILLERLADY Single, here's now part 2 on the BEAU TRAVAIL label, featuring exclusive songs by the side-projects of Junge, singer of legendary german punk band EA80! This time under his pseudonym KILLER, a split-7" with german Grind-Death-Punk Kult-Band JAPANISCHE KAMPFHÖRSPIELE!
...And what's the difference then between KILLER and KILLERLADY? Easy enough: As KILLERLADY he's using (or abusing) the lyrics of songs from other bands/artists, and writing new music to it. But as KILLER it's all from himself, lyrics and music. With his song "Dis-something" the KILLER fuses Discharge with a swinging Jazzbrush in an exothermic reaction. Distorted and pissed in less than 2 minutes.
While JAKA celebrate on their side with "Die Zombies Kommen" nothing less than the first socio-critical GRINDMUSICAL. Or the deconstruction of the whole metal scene? More than five minutes playing-time of absurd.
- LIMITED edition of 480 copies
- Fullcolor cardboard-foldout-sleeve, printed on both side
240 copies fronting the glossy KILLER-side
240 copies fronting the rough JAKA-side
- Black revenue-stamp with black printing
- Fullcolor labels, including inserts, and screenprinted sticker

JAPANTHER / PHARMACY split 7" (Bachelor Rec.) 5,00 EUR
This red hot slab of wax was recorded in the desert whilst on a shared U.S. tour. JAPANTHER (Brooklyn, NY) let loose a trashy version of their anti love/anti war number "Not At War." A song that captures the duos true Ramonesy/Germish brat-pop style to a T. THE PHARMACY (Seattle, WA) fire back with "What Are You Doing With Your Life" an upbeat epic complete with piano hooks and breakdowns. Some where between Nirvana and Otis Redding these three smiling friends kick out good poppy punk anthems with a tinge of soul.

JAWBOX - Tools & Crome 7" (Dischord Rec., clear wax) 15 Euro

JAWBOX/ EDSEL 7"(Desoto Rec.) 10 Euro

JEANIE AND THE TITS - Slut Fame 7" (Floridas Dying Rec.) 5,50 Euro
The first ladies of Floridas Dying are finally here, and they give us three tracks of simple, crude catchy punk rock that remind syou why you got into this music in the first place. FUN remember that. Well these ladies do, and it couldnt be any more refreshing. So unfurrow your brow for a bit and start dancing. File under BOMBETTES, HANNA HIRSCH or DANGERLOVES plus a ratty voice.

JEREMY GLUCK - I Am Time / Breaks Me/Anybody 7" (Perpetrator Rec.) 6,00 EUR
Best known as the singer for British band the BARRACUDAS, Mister Gluck has been quietly amassing a body of solo tunes over the past decade & a half with a number of illustrious musical companions, most notably w/the late Nikki Sudden & Epic Soundtracks (of Swell Maps fame), Rowland S. Howard & the late Jeffrey Lee Pierce..... These tunes are out of a more recent batch and tap into a Velvets drone side of Mister Gluck's repertoire, a touch of Spacemen 3 in the proceedings, but all graced with the unmistakeable vocals of the BARRACUDAS man..

JESUS CHRIST SUPER FLY - Big Shit 7" (Rise Rec., Rare Kozik-Sleeve, red wax) 12 Euro

JET BOYS - Jet Patrol LP (Demolition Derby Rec.) 11 Euro
The Jet Boys are the long-standing dukes of Japanese pervo punk and never fail to impress with their revved up junkie rock and over-the-top graphic identity...a Japanese Mad Magazine punk combo with cool Johnny Thunders guitar licks and damn-the-torpedoes-full-speed-ahead attitude. File under: GUITAR WOLF, DEVIL DOGS and NEW BOMB TURKS.

JET SILVER- One More Day 7" (Bona Fide Rec., yellow wax rarrrrrreeee) 15 Euro

JIVE BUNNY - Swing The Mood 12" (pic.disc) 12 Euro

JIZZLOBBERS / GOLDEN HELMETS Split 7" (Timmeheiehumme Rec.) 5,00 EUR
Europe distributed by P.Trash Records!!!
Both bands are well-known in the German Punkrock-scene, especially in their hometowns Cologne and »Rockcity No. 1« Solingen. JIZZLOBBERS and GOLDEN HELMETS are true »brothers in crime«, not only because they both released their full-length debut-albums on the same label and at the same time in 2010. Now they finally team up on this split-EP!
GOLDEN HELMETS tell you smart things: »In a club at night circumstances change. Everything’s different.« – A good old wisdom. Five yobs, driven by their very own »Mission from God«, can’t help but keeping this wisdom alive. Early they’ve got hooked up with garagepunk by playing in bands like DIRTSHAKES, CAVE 4, CURLEE WURLEE, BATTLEDYKES and THE SHELLS. No matter which country, city or venue – this mission is law and the method is easy, loud and simple: Farfisa-driven 60ies punk and garage-rock combined with a little Northern Soul! And there’s just one rule a wild show by THE GOLDEN HELMETS is based on: »They don’t eat no honey, they’re chewing whole bees.« So, if you ever get the chance to see them live: Don’t miss it! They are ripping party animals!!! GOLDEN HELMETS deliver their masterpiece with their new songs »Run« and »Attractive Depression«! Masterpiece cuz there was always ONE thing to complain about the band: they couldn’t catch their unbelievable live-energy on their studio-recordings. So, there were two choices – to record a liveset or to destroy a studio and polish the new tracks with shitloads of studio-ruin-dirt and Farfisa-crazed-madness! The band made the second choice and the result is ab-za-lootely over the top! One of their songs will soon be released on the GaragePunkHideout-Sampler Volume 5.
The JIZZLOBBERS play energy-driven melodical oldschool-punkrock built on sweat and loads of thirst. The band was born in 2000 sporting current staff members since October 2006. Maybe one or the other has heard about them from great former bands like BACKWOOD CREATURES or HAVANA RAGDOLLS - though propably not. JIZZLOBBERS got the pretty charms of bands like the LAZY COWGIRLS – in their music and some say in their looks, too! Well, musical-wise just add some oldschool-stuff like Mr. Thunder’s HEARTBREAKERS and cool cats like DEVIL DOGS, HUMPERS, BRIEFS, MODERN ACTION and SHARP OBJECTS and you’ll get the picture: Just great ’n catchy Punkrock! JIZZLOBBERS do nothing less than to answer one of the last unsolved mysteries of Punkrock: Who killed Johnny Thunders? The Germans did!!! To be accurate: DIE TOTEN HOSEN (or »The Dead Trousers« in perfect German English)! Those fuckers payed the last cheque for Johnny’s golden shot! And they continued with crimes against Punkrock e.g. by stealing the complete »On A Rope« riff from ROCKET FROM THE CRYPT for one of their shitty songs. Disgusting! But that’s another story... Thank god that there are still bands like the JIZZLOBBERS who still pay respect to the heritage of Mr. Thunders. Listen to the great songs of the JIZZLOBBERS: melody, energy, passion and some great singing. Those guys know how to write AND play amazing Punkrock-tunes! That said, maybe the world will pardon us poor Germans for our sins someday. Call us sweethearts!

JOHNNY THROTTLE - Sick Of Myself/ Job In The City 7" (Crypt Rec.) 4,90 Euro
So... it's February 2009 in Berlin, it's an ice-cold night and one of the Crypt A&R army (yeah, right!) plus a crew consisting of BBQ and 3 Black Lips are making the rounds of the hotspots in search of girls, er... TALENT, and we stumble into the Kortina Bob nightclub and witness a quite amazing set o' poonkrock pummel being blasted out by 4 lads in from Londinium via Portugal (and various other countries). After the set the A&R "team" (well, that's how tim is often pronounced by pals from Espana, and Team does sound better than "Lone, Deranged Alcoholic") approaches Afonso the singer and say "Hey, man! Y'wanna do a single?", Afonso says "Sho!". A&R team punches in the Applausometer on our custombuilt demographic-calculating supersecret ChartBusterAnaliser/DownloadBusting machine in tow - sorry, record labels: this fabulous protege industry-saving mosheen is not available for another 5 years, so we'll all be outta biz before it hits the retail shelves!) and chooses the 2 songs that received the most in fanboy schwitz and groupie panty-moisturizing ratings: "Sick Of Myself", a tune combining equal parts Stoogey roar and Users squonk. "Job In The City", a Kids cover that heaps on Eddie & The Hotrods pubrock honk aplenty.

JOHNNY THROTTLE - Stukas Über Shoreditch 7" (Wrench Rec.) 5,25 EUR
At last - the debut release from JOHNNY THROTTLE, and the first release on the Wrench Records label for almost four years! JOHNNY THROTTLE formed in 2008 and have been playing drunken, beer-soaked gigs regularly since then. They are fronted by ex-PARKINSONS singer Afonso, and have former members of MENACE, SHAKIN' NASTIES, JACKOFFS and URBAN SHOCKS in the band. They play snotty, moronic and straight-to-the-point punk. Live, they bang out a furious 20-minute set of short and catchy Slaughter and the Dogs meet the Electric Eels type Punk Rock! This is probably London's best punk band, and definitely London's snottiest!

JOHNNY VOMIT - Running In A Rat Race 7" (Solid Sex Lovie Doll Rec.) Bad & Drunk Edit. 6 Euro
JOHNNY VOMIT - Running In A Rat Race 7" (Solid Sex Lovie Doll Rec.) Psych Synth Punk Edit. 6 Euro

JOHN WESLEY COLEMAN / TIMMY'S ORAGANISM Split 7" (Goner Rec.) 5,75 EUR
There's a million ways to go crazy, which is one reason it's so depressing to hear so many bands that sound alike. Get a little bit outside yourself, folks! Two fellows with no problem getting outside themselves are JOHN WESLEY COLEMAN and TIMMY VULGAR. Wesley's been bashing out demented Pop songs buried in fuzz and blather for about a decade—here he provides a track that might remind you of the BUZZCOCKS pretending to be a drunk BRUCE SPRINGSTEEN trying to play a NICK LOWE song that he hasn't written yet. Guaranteed to be stuck in your hair for a week. TIMMY VULGAR began as a punk in Michigan but quickly moved from angry personal attacks to more epic attacks on the entire universe with his bands HUMAN EYE and TIMMY’S ORGANISM. MIND OVER MATTER follows this musical quest to musically shoot out the musical sun. Jimi Hendrix, Timothy Leary, and a whole bunch of musical lizards like this.

JOHN WESLEY COLEMAN III / FOLLOWED BY STATIC Split-LP (Way Out There Rec.) 12,50 EUR
"Way Out There" is a new record label based in the northern of Italy, run by Astrid of MISS CHAIN & THE BROKEN HEELS and Alberto of IL BUIO. Their name comes from deep love for folkway lifestyle, small towns, wooden houses, dream-catchers and, of course, fine and spontaneous music!
JOHN WESLEY COLEMAN III, A-side is called "Personality Pancake EP" and it features four crazy songs mixing punk-rock, Nuggets-era fuzzy guitars and the best tradition of garage rock'n'roll. Wes also plays guitar and sings with the GOLDEN BOYS and his solo records, out on Certified PR and Goner, blew our minds away!
FOLLOWED BY STATIC, B-side is called "Bacon Bear EP" and it just sounds great. Really, can you imagine when pop experimentalism meets the greatest rock tradition? That's the perfect armony between melody and noise. And then there's Cop Gloves, the "latest contender for single of the year"!

JOHN WESLEY COLEMAN - Little Miss Keith Richards LP (Daggerman Rec.) 15,90 EUR
John Wesley Coleman's third full-length LP, following up Steal My Mind on Certified PR and Bad Lady Goes to Jail on Goner Records. From Austin, TX, Wes has been making a name for himself for years as a member of the Golden Boys and as a writer and an artist. Little Miss Keith Richards is a pure, primitive Texan party record with some psych, some pop and a big dose of real rock'n'roll. 500 pressed on black vinyl with free digital download.

JOHN WESLEY COLEMAN III - Bad Lady Goes To Jail LP + MP3 (Goner Rec.) 16,50 EUR
Who is John Wesley Coleman? He describes himself as "garbage collector, golden boy." Those four words might fit him best. Coleman currently makes pizzas in Austin, Texas, lives in weird territory, and is part of an invisible, non-scene made up of his other Austin band Golden Boys, North Carolina's Spider Bags and Memphis' Limes--all groups with their own takes on sprawling, psychedelic, country-tinged rock. The artists he covers, largely street-level commentators of life below the poverty line, are telling; on his last album, Steal My Mind, he did Lester Bangs and Warren Zevon songs; this time, it's Nikki Sudden. Of course, a few years back he released a completely blasted version of George Michael's "Faith" that was seen as a piss-take but actually spoke to Wes' mindset.

JOHN WESLEY COLEMAN III - Steal My Mind LP (Certified PR Rec.) 12,90 EUR
1st orders get col. wax !!!
After years on the singles circuit we have finally graduated to the Long Player... and WOW, what a crazy good way to start! John is the guitarist for The GOLDEN BOYS and recorded "Steal My Mind" at Laguna Studios in Austin TX. Wes explains his Summer Jam 2009 as "... 10 hours, eleven songs, 2 bottles of Bullet Burbon, 100 beers, a carton of smokes, marijuana & stuff, Chinese food and good friends altogether to make this live shit...". These booze soaked anthems will rot away at your brain like a $8 fifth of store brand swill! Includes great covers of Warren Zevon's "Lawyers, Guns And Money" and Lester Bangs' "Life Is Not Worth Living And Suicide Is A Waste Of Time". ... Just in time to make everyones "best of 2009" list...

Bands like UV RAY, the STATUES, & STRANGE ATTRACTOR, call the big nickel homebase. Rob of the STATUES, a GOGO's superfan, decided put together the gogo's of his own, so he picked up the drumsticks, and clicked the 4-count. These guys and gals turned in an incredible demo. JOLTS - Kaminari Lovers 7" (No Front Teeth Rec.) 4,90 Euro
Smell that? That's the hair on your knuckles being burned off by the lightning force of The Jolts rock and roll attack... Vancouver’s Jolts are back with some more high-energy classic 1970s style punk rock that recalls heavy hitters Turbonegro or Electric Frankenstein in their prime. This 7” also comes with a drop card so you can download all the tracks digitally, and for all the phoneys who don’t got a turntable – you don’t have to miss out on this killer Rock ‘n’ Roll.

JONESES, THE - Criminal History Revisited 2xLP + digital download (Full Breach Kicks) 20,90 EUR
Out of all the rock ‘n’ roll sleaze bands in Hollywood during the 1980s, The JONESES are recognized as coming first and being the toughest and most honest of them all. This no-nonsense group of trash rockers, led by the charismatic Jeff Drake, were a hot-blooded mix of the NEW YORK DOLLS, JOHNNY THUNDERS, and EDDIE COCHRANE, too glam for punk and too punk for rock. If the term “trashy rock ‘n’ roll” could only apply to one band, The JONESES would take the label in spades. Their music was raw and powerful, their style a mix of their predecessors. They lived the sleazy rock ‘n’ roll life like they invented it, with clever songs about their tales of pills, booze, chicks, and decadence. The JONESES brought their own definition of cool to the table, youthful yet timeless, fierce yet endearing, and drugged up and drunk the whole time. Their music was pure punk fueled rock ‘n’ roll aggression, sung with ‘50s style melody but coming hard with ‘80s Los Angeles aggression. Unfortunately, The JONESES had all the right parts but were not recognized for being the unique forbearers they were. To say these rockers were cool wouldn’t be saying enough. They were the symbol of cool on the Hollywood strip, and they were what rock ‘n’ roll was and is really about. No posturing or false chic – they were the real deal, the real sleaze with the real sound of the street. This collection has been re-mastered and includes The JONESES best songs, rare and unreleased songs only found on this release, many unseen pictures, and detailed liner notes.
The vinyl double LP comes with an exclusive digital download of the entire collection.

JON SPENCER BLUES EXPLOSION - Crypt Style LP (Crypt Rec.) 11,75 EUR
This is their fine "debut" of sorts, featuring 17 early and amphetamine-frenzied whip-crackin' tunes, including THAT incredible cover of Jerry Lee's "Lovin' Up A Storm", several cuts from their post-"Willie" Albini sessions, and a few ONLY AVAILABLE HERE cuts, such as "Kill-A-Man", the blues-groan o' "Like A Hawk", and a CRA-ZAY cover o' Hound Dog Taylor's "Let's Get Funky"?

JOY DIVISION - Unknown Pleasure LP (Fan Club Rec.) 12,90 EUR
Unknown Pleasures is the debut album by the English post-punk band Joy Division, released in 1979 through Factory Records. Martin Hannett produced the record at Strawberry Studios, Stockport, England. The album sold poorly upon release, but due to the subsequent success of Joy Division with the 1980 single "Love Will Tear Us Apart", Unknown Pleasures is now better known.

JUANITA Y LOS FEOS - Beat Generation LP (Big Black Hole Rec.) 11,50 EUR
If there is unanimity about Juanita y los Feos, it is that there's not unanimity about how they sound like. You can say they do garage with syntesizers (Like The BLACK LIPS trampling on a sweaty and feminine suicide), or that they do uncouth new wave (Like a BLONDIE with guts), or direcly say that they do synth punk perfect for shaking your ass (like The LOST SOUNDS agaisnt the SCREAMERS on a on a discotheque), and no one could accuse me of not having a fucking idea of what I'm talking about.

JUDAS PRIEST - Point Of Entry LP 6 Euro

JU JUS - You Treated Me Bad LP (Ray Hummel III / Feathered Apple Rec.) 14,00 EUR
Compiled from the impressive mastertape collection of The JuJus lead singer, guitarist, and main songwritter Ray Hummel III. This all official LP includes no less but 14 of the very best cuts from 1964-1966 ever recorded by this legendary 60s garage rock and roll outfit from Grand Rapids, Michigan.
Side one blasts off with The JuJus monster 1965 garage rock and roll hit YOU TREAT ME BAD in perfect soundquality, followed by four phenomenal previously unreleased top quality studio tracks from early 1966 that are ONLY AVAILABLE ON THIS LP: AS TEARS GO BY (a faithful cover version of The Rolling Stones track from the unreleased 1966 Phil Robert’s Studio recording session), IT’S GONNA BE ALRIGHT (unreleased studio version from 1966 that is different from all other versions), FINE DAY (killer different studio version from the unreleased Phil Robert’s Studio mastertapes. It was recorded at the height of The JuJus career in February 1966), and COME ON CHILDREN (best version of one of their best cuts, also from the completely unreleased 1966 Phil Robert’s Studio tapes) Side one is closing out with another killer high energy 60s garage nugget from 1965 entitled CRYIN’, plus HEY LITTLE GIRL, the fantastic mid-fast 50s rock and roll blended flipside of YOU TREATED ME BAD.
Side Two is opening with a fast surf garage instrumental from 1964 called FLAKE OUT. Next up is The JuJus beautiful unique arrangement of the 60s ballad DON’T LET THE SUN CATCH YOU CRYING (originally recorded by Gerry And The Pacemakers), which is a gem of a track and another highlight on this LP. SHE’S MY GIRL appears in the by far best version (also from the unreleased 1966 Phil Robert’s Studio tapes) complete with a rave up to close out the song, and fantastic lead vocals by Ray. Ritchie Valens would have been proud of The JuJus fabulous 1964 version of DONNA, which as it turns out also used to be the name of Ray Hummel’s girlfriend back then. The record is closing out with The JuJus debut studio recordings from May 1965: HEY LITTLE GIRL (an early alternate version that clearly shows the 50s rock and roll influence in the band), SUMMERTIME (killer rocking version played The JuJus way), and RUNAROUND (a colossal 50s blended 60s garage rock and roll track with harp and super cool lead vocals by Ray -- a bit like Bob Dylan meets Buddy Holly!)
Highly recommended to anybody into 60S GARAGE, the British invasion, 60s beat, The Rolling Stones, Beatles, and folk-rock like The Dovers, Bob Dylan etc., but also to the surf and 50s rock and roll crowd too!
Soundquality of this deep groove vinyl LP is fantastic, much clearer sound than on all other previous JuJus anthologies. JULIETTE MITTENS, THE - April/June LP (Rococo Rec.) (ltd to 300 Edit.) 15,75 EUR
Full color printed sleeve, on black vinyl. As described by the band: "April/June...recorded in our rehearsal room first part of 2006 in Leiden, The Netherlands. The tracks are from two different sessions hence April/June (we like to keep our titles simple). The idea was to make a cyclical work (round like an lp) so there's no side A or B. The listener can start anywhere. The tracks are just there...they do not really start or end and they seem to add to each other somehow after a while (at least that's my experience)... Although the tracks feel like a relaxed ride at times, they where recorded at the usual intense volume levels...really, really loud! Don't know how they came out this way... All four tracks had this same 'relaxed' feeling about them so that's why we decided to put them together. Our tracks have no name, no number, they are what they are..."

JUST WENT BLACK - Embracing Emptiness 10" (Assault Rec.) 9,90 EUR
After their highly acclaimed full length release „Tides” in 2005, Hamburg’s Just Went Black return with their brand new 10" EP, titled “Embracing Emptiness”. Passion is the name of the game and the six new songs leave nothing to be desired: raging fury and sheer power, as well as fragile melodies and moments packed with pure emotion. This is pure hardcore punk rock, and nothing else. Or wait a second - maybe it’s a lot more?! Devastating, ugly…and stunningly beautiful. We're doing out best to give this the deluxe vinyl treatment: heavy cardstock covers and printed inner sleeves.

JUST WENT BLACK - Tides LP (Assault Rec.) 10,90 EUR
The wait was long and expectations were high. Now the JUST WENT BLACK full-length is finally out. "Tides" is a more than worthy successor to their debut 7" "Balancing Reasons In An Unbalanced World". Refusing to be pigeon-holed, the band has reinvented itself with every step without losing their singular sense for melodies and lyrical self-destruction. Thus it comes as no surprise that building on their very own distinctive sound, the band has matured considerably and evolved musically, taking themselves to a whole new level of passion and sincerity. Unafraid to stray from the beaten path, these 11 tracks are angry, desperate and deeply personal. "Tides" shows us a darker and heavier side of Just Went Black, layered with haunting melodies that will stay with you long after the record is finished. More than just a hardcore record, this is an emotional tour de force and a new benchmark for the quintet. Still in love with the dirt, the rejected and crippled, JUST WENT BLACK refuse to submit to the clichés and trends that plague today's Hardcore scene. Convinced of Hardcore as being "more than music", they succeed in bringing back integrity and intensity to a scene that is lacking both all too often these days. Mastered by Paul Miner at Q Mark, pressed on 150g vinyl and packed in beautiful gatefold cover, "Tides" serves as an inspiration in a world of disappointment.
