WANDERS - Ready Go!!! 7" (Honey Bunny Rec.) 5 Euro
WANKYS, THE - The Very Best Of Hero LP (La Vida Es Un Mus Rec.) 11,50 EUR
THE WANKYS, who claim to be from Kyushu Island, UK (actually they are from Leicester) surprised all of us last year with their already classic NOISE PUNK EP released on Noise and Distortion Label. This Album is not a release that anyone is likely to feel indifferent about; it's far to over the top for that! It has horrible screeching vocals, plodding driving bass, fucked-up sounding drums and insanely distorted guitars. Can you imagine Disorder and Confuse having a glue-sniffing session and the survivors picking up some instruments and heading off to a studio? Have you ever had a mental picture of early Swankys and early Chaos UK competing against each other over who has the nosiest guitar sound? Probably the only band from outside of Japan that has accurately emulated the Kyushu/Bristol sound, this album has already been hailed as a modern day classic and has set the standard in the new sub-genre of Punk that is now known as "NOISE PUNK". A must for Fans of GAI, CONFUSE, DISORDER early SWANKYS or CHAOS CH and a NO for melody fans.
WARMJETS - Wanna Start A War LP (Rave Up Rec.) 12,25 EUR
Philadelphia’s punk rock finest band! Started in 1977, the band was really popular at the ‘The Hot Club’, one of the main punk venues in USA. They had a punk ethos, but laced with a potent pop mentality and a big sense of pure theatricality that reminded one of suck disparate outfits as Sparks, The Weirdos, Lance Loud’s Mumps and The Dickies, not to mention The Monkees! Unfortunately the band recorded only one acetate and few studio tracks that you can find in this anthology that contains the best production of their unlucky career!!! Pure US punk genius, grab this!!!

WASPS - This Waspunk LP (Rave Up Rec.) 12,50 EUR
Formed in February 1976 The Wasps were one of London’s earliest punk bands. They were regulars at The Roxy, The Bridge House etc. and soon built a large following. In November 1977 their first single ‘Teenage Treats’ was released on the 4-Play label. Reviewed in the NME as "great single" by Bob Geldof, the single is a marvellous example of ’77 punk rock and now highly collectable. A month later, The Wasps appeared on the ‘Live At The Vortex’ album. Recorded in October ’77 their track ‘Can’t Wait ‘Till ‘78’ was chosen as the lead track for a split single with Mean Streets who included a young Gary Numan! In mid ’78 the band played a gig at The Bells in Kings Cross, London. During their set a fan was set upon by over zealous bouncers who thought he’d let off a firework, beat him up and he consequently died. Their snd 7” ‘Rubber Cars’ was released to much acclaim and a TV company wanted to make an animated series based upon the band. Suddenly The Wasps were hot property and former managers filed writs causing RCA to pull the plug on ‘Rubber Cars’, despite it being RCA’s biggest selling single of the week! The disappointment and the legal problems caused the band to split. Yeah! Finally on vinyl the anthology of all their tracks!!!
WAU Y LOS ARRRGHS - Its great 7" (Slovenly Rec.) 5,50 EUR
A limited edition single with the hilarious hit from their second album, "It's Great!", backed with "Carrera Espacial", a great track recorded during the same session by Jorge Explosion & Mike Mariconda.
WAVVES - King Of The Beach LP + MP3 (Fat Possum Rec.) 15,90 EUR
"King of the beach", the new WAVVES album is an adventurous and ambitious record. It cuts deeper into the bleeding throat catharsis and ’60s sunshine soul that WAVVES is known for. It also unexpectedly flips out with elements of primitive electronics and psychedelic studio experimentation. Unlike WAVVES’ previously released material, recorded in haphazard bursts on Nathan Williams’ laptop, "King of the beach" was toiled over for three months at Sweet Tea Recording, a world-renowned studio in Oxford, Mississippi. Sweet Tea is also the home of Dennis Herring, producer of the last two Modest Mouse albums, and the man who dismantled and re-assembled the sound on this record.
WAX MUSEUMS - Eye Times LP (Trouble In Mind Rec.) 15,90 EUR
WAX MUSEUMS - Eye Times CD (Trouble In Mind Rec.) 14,90 EUR
Wait, have the Wax Museums MATURED?!?!?! After a 3 year hiatus north TX’s lovable misfits (who share members with The Bad Sports and Mind Spiders) are back with a four-headed thirteen eyed monster of an album that while still slightly awkward, is undeniably focused and endearing. ‘Eye Times’ is a musical step forward with moments of glammy art-rockness that proves once and for all these clowns ain’t just one-joke jerks. ‘Mosquito Enormo’ swarms and stings with it’s way-out delay pedal induced chaos and ‘Bruiser’ proves the Wax Museums still just write killer punk anthems. The charming nerd-o aesthetic that was so prevalent on the early singles and first LP remain, but NOW with added sexual frustration, ‘Breakfast for Dinner’ just very well might be the Wax Museum’s “Me So Horny“… or something. The first press of this LP is on randomly-mixed vinyl & includes a download code! RIYL: Bad Sports, Cheap Time, Icky Boyfriends, Dickies, Devo...

WAX MUSEUMS - Same LP (Douchmaster Rec.) 14,90 EUR
Apparently there is absolutely nothing to do in Denton, TX but write songs. We feel privileged to bring you the first full length album from the extraordinarily prolific WAX MUSEUMS. You know what to expect at this point and The WAX MUSEUMS deliver. Fourteen tracks of killer Educational Punk.
WEAKENDS - Same LP (Rob's House Rec.) 15,50 Euro
The WEAKENDS are back with the follow-up to their debut 7", and this time it's with a long-player that finds its home a bit more on the blues-punk side of the no-fi french underground. They are banging away, singing through broken PA's, sounding like a way cooler hot rod, 50's, b-movie band then you ever remember, or they sound like what those bands should have sounded like, but they were too self aware or just never that good. Tour with BLACK LIPS for early next year in the works??
WEAKENDS - Same 7" (Rob`s House Rec.) 5,50 EUR
Debut release from Bordeaux's The WEAKENDS and gauranteed to please. Too many lo-fi fuzzed out influences to name but these guys live it and this is just their first step on the way to claiming the title of france's best garage band. Recorded by french weird punks CHEVEUC.
WEBELOS - Megadiez 7" (Bowery Rec.) 5,00 EUR
HIGHLY RECOMMENDED !!! There´s a before and an after of this record in Spain since with this single the Iberian punk Rock returned to his place. Megadiez was a kick in the ribs for all the Spanish punk Rock bands that had its eyes focused on the American bands, and on the false punk Rock that came from Scandinavia in the ends of the 90´s. With these ten songs the Webelos focused again the attention in forgotten spanish bands such as Desechables, Último Resorte or Larsen ... On the other hand, they returned the audacity to punk Rock, pimping everyone upon putting in the market this brutal engraved piece to the first one takes in a four track, using only two of them. The madrid trio sat the bases for everything that would come later: one minute songs, no difficult guitar chords, and no concessions to heavy metal. No musical knowledges and a good dose of mongolism surround this second generation classic of the Iberian punk Rock, that now Bowery records dares to rescue 10 years later , celebrating its anniversary as it deserves. "Its a nasty Punk sound, still blows my minds out . ..” get your copy now and no longer you will have to pay crazy $$$$ to get this single in ebay!!!
WEDNESDAYS - Liberty 7" (Perpetrator Rec. New Zealand) 6 Euro

WELCOME HOME WALKER - Duds! LP (Taken By Surprise Rec.) 11,50 EUR
Who would have thought that a group of southern boys, now living in Portland, Oregon, would uncover the future of doo-wop boogie pop, lassoing the soul of 1950 and the hooks of 1970 and dragging those years through the dregs of punk into 2011?
DUDS! is the first full length by W.H. WALKER, 10 pop filled anthems featuring a cover of BOBBY DARIN"s DREAM LOVER!

WE LIVE IN TRENCHES - Autonomy Clinic 7" (Instigate Rec.) 5,50 EUR

WE LIVE IN TRENCHES - Modern Hex LP (Full Trash 43)
Limd. 452 regular edition 11,50 Euro
Limd. 100 "Burning Of Witches" Edit, have copper color silk-screened covers, printed on thick dark blue paper & black wax, for P.Trash Club-members only! 13,90 Euro
Their sound has been seething slowly in dark and mud-filled trenches way up north in those Swedish realms and finally the desperados of a vile church signal and embrace the end of all ends with this record that immediately pops up in everybody's top ten list these days like the epiphany of the holy mother of Noise. If tomorrow never comes this is the soundtrack to your final hours. When the walls close in and everything implodes, this is your fix of reality! ”Modern Hex” is an attention-seeking atom bomb ready to explode through the plasticity of your life. Through every syllable spits conviction, with every dissonant note thought pierces through, with every beat there's nail hammered down.
Filtering the pounding bassline and shattering drums of UNSANE and the stoic sonic brutality of FUCKED UP in dragging songs like ''White knuckles'', ''I owe my soul'' and ''Black Friday'', adding some galloping speed, FLIPPER's insane distortion and the craving urge of early Touch & Go bands like THE JESUS LIZARD in ''Vatican strap'', ''Male damage'' and ''After dark'' and flavouring this cocktail of ugly anthems with some furious female growls in ''Deported'' and the title track ''Modern hex''.
This ain't sheet music but the noise emanating from a palpitating sick heart that passionately smashes against a wall.
WE MARCH - The Choice 7" (Wicked Singles Rec.) 5,75 EUR
300 only, great Ohio band found their place on the
GHETTO WAYS label, with Detroit 70's huge rock sound and something slimy and dirty going on. These guys trust their fans, put their phone numbers on the record sleeve!!!
WESLEY COLEMANS - Fourth Of July 7" (Boom Chick Rec.) Dif. color wax marble green, yellow,... 5,50 Euro
Wesley Coleman is a riddle wrapped in an enigma wrapped in a jelly donut. The songs on this 7", unlike a lot of Wesley's catalog, have a little something we like to call structure and verses and choruses, but he still manage to blow your mind with his stream of consciousness bullshit songwriting. He's the Hasil of our generation without sounding anything like him. But without the hot dogs.
WESTERN DARK - So Sad, Well ? 7" (Perpetrator Rec. New Zealand) 6 Euro
Another winner on Perpetrator Rec. sounds like THE LOCOMOTIONS !!!
Erin ex-bassist from the DEADLY WEAPONS, teams up with a Lemmy-esque singer, and the
ex-bassist fer ZEN GUERILLA

Radio Birdman's "Breaks My Heart" on the B-side...
WEST COAST NATURAL GAS - RD-Records LP (Red Lounge Rec.) 14,50 EUR
An album full of VINTAGE 1966-1968 Music by the band that brought you the incredible „HASHISH“ on the legendary San Franciso Sampler “Fifth Pipe Dream”...read on!!
First ever release of this killer Westcoast psychedelic monster that took many years to complete!!!
West Coast Natural Gas started in 1965 in Seattle. In early 1967 they went to San Francisco to work for a local music manager named Matthew Katz. Katz was the original manager for Jefferson Airplane, Moby Grape and later also It’s a Beautiful Day.
He talked West Coast Natural Gas into signing a contract with him but being young and stupid, they didn’t realize at the time that they had basically signed everything over to him.
They went into the studio and recorded some original tunes: A Favor, Go Run and Play, The Jumping Frog, Hashish, Water or Wine, Beyond This Place, and Two’s A Pair.
In early 1968 the band broke up and went back to Seattle. Katz released a single – Go Run and Play / A Favor on his S.F. Sound label under the name West Coast Natural Gas.
Later he released a compilation album - the first San Francisco Sound sampler - called “Fifth Pipe Dream”.
The four songs mentioned before, Water or Wine, Hashish, Beyond This Place and Two’s A Pair were the ones recorded by WCNG and relabeled by Katz as Indian Puddin’ and Pipe. This superb release includes all the above mentioned songs, plus others from acetates.

WHEELS ON FIRE - Liar, Liar LP (Alien Snatch Rec.) 11,50 EUR
WHEELS ON FIRE - Liar, Liar CD (Alien Snatch Rec.) 12,50 EUR
Welcome to the Land of the Haunted Houses! The WHEELS ON FIRE are a young & gritty four piece hailing from Athens, Ohio and we're excited to exclusively present their new full length album Liar, Liar on CD/LP. The quartet plays garage-y-keyboard driven power pop/rocknroll grown up in Time Bomb Highschool. Mix the GREG OBLIVIAN's latest output with the modern pop edge of swedish LOST PATROL BAND or CAESARS (for adults: put ELVIS COSTELLO or electrified 60´s sunshine in here) and you get what you need for the summer or the long wait for the next summer. It´s the midwest where you can listen to the best records, develop a magic antennae for great songwriting and still take it easy sing about UFOs and deliver the soundtrack for any beach blow-out. Two guitars, no bass, a feverish beat and girl on the keys. Yep! Well crafted songwriting full of hooks and a great vocals - check! The WHEELS ON FIRE have records on FAT POSSUM/BIG LEGAL MESS and lately a 7" Single of lovely TROUBLE IN MIND RECORDS. They look back on three US tours and two European tours and still sneak out and move under the radar from the opinion making media machines. Which is fine with us so we can present this solid gold recordings plus we can tell that they put down a kicking live show with duel vocals, fuzzy organ and blistering guitars. The album has twelve originals and comes in unbelievable full color artwork by our friends at Moustache Gracias with printed inner sleeve. WHEELS ON FIRE just finished an extended US tour in June 2010 - look out for the band to tour Europe throughout October 2010. Fun guaranteed.

WHITE SAVAGE / TRES DELICIAS 7" (Holy Cobra Society Rec.) 5,50 Euro
WHITE SAVAGE is seasoned: All but one of these heathens have been or are in bands you should know if you don’t already. Jered Gummere’s from the PONYS, Jim McCann is from BASEBALL FURIES and TYRADES, Colin Smith from SCREAMING YELLO ZONKERS, Greg Sharp’s from CHIN UP CHIN UP, and Ryan Weinstein was in the RETURNABLES and ZZZZ. And then there’s Bob Johnson, the saxophone player who works the door at the Empty Bottle and had to kick out a heckler at the very first show he played with the band. WHITE SAVAGE is a mystery: Sometime masks are worn and the six members are no longer their affable, (mostly) Midwestern selves. They are primal savages who will surf on their guitars, swing from ceiling fans, burn themselves on lights, lie on the floor, walk out the door, scream, sweat and convulse. WHITE SAVAGE was born in Chicago, sprung from the good time hang outs of three drinking buddies who all happen to have the spirit of savages running through them. The band rose from the ashes of one dissolved band through friendship and brought in members who needed “funship”: an escape from the parts of the world that bring you down, a place to hug it out when trifling bitches, shitty jobs, and cold cities try to keep the spirit down. WHITE SAVAGE isn’t just a band that goes ape-shit, knocks your head back and smacks you into realizing the wonder of the world, hangs from the rafters and drills holes into the floor. It’s a way of life and it feels all right.
TRES DELICIAS is the best trio Spain had for years...It´s the new definition for Irrational...as that time you
listened GORIES, like first time "Soul Food" sounded in your pick-up. 1 minute it´ll take to say that they are some kinda of KBD. Another one wil say that they sounded to the most primitive GUN CLUB. Nor fucking idea. Or yes?. And as a good food is nothing without a good wine...if they play less than 650 km of your house, better go
round to see them and look how with a pair of guitars,a box and goliath the modernloved "She cracked " can be
twisted ...

The tones are a little brighter, the tempos a little faster, the songs a little (if this is possible) catchier than on their debut.

WICKED AWESOMES! - Punk Holograms LP (Psychic Handshake Rec.) 14,90 EUR
Take this for hyperbole if you will, but Punk Holograms is a mindblowing album, and one of the best debut LP's in recent memory. Hailing from the unlikely locale of Edmonton, Alberta (one of the coldest, most northern cities of over 1 million people in the entire world), The WICKED AWESOMES have been cultivating their brand of "subarctic frozen glü-wave*" for almost three years now, releasing a split 7" with Montreal's The O VOIDS, and their debut single, "Information Entropy," on Almost Ready Records last year (the latter of which sold out of its first pressing almost immediately). These five talented young men are like a virtual cool sounds encyclopedia; a lexicon of stellar punk, garage, psych, art rock and new wave influences. A real product of the "download generation," if their ever was one. There are so many potential hits on this record, its unreal. Think of the BLACK LIPS playing Daydream Nation-era SONIC YOUTH filtered down through DEVO, and you're starting to scratch the surface. Listen further and you'll uncover so much more. Expect this thirteen track, 36 minute opus!!! - DJ Rick (MySpace comment)
WILD BILLY CHILDISH - There Is Only Me 7" (Squoodge Rec.) Limd. 177 copies in blue wax 6,90 EUR
Is it really necessary to tell YOU something about BILLY CHILDISH? This man is a cult legend! A man of many incarnations including The Buff Medways, Thee Headcoats, Thee Mighty Ceasers and many many others. He is never anything less than a true rebel and non-conformist. Billy Childish is an artist, painter, author, poet, photographer, film maker, singer and guitarist and of course one of the most significant artist of his generation. Squoodge Records is proud to present another great work of this important and influental figure with two new unreleased tracks!
WILDEBEESTS - Annie Get Your Gnu LP (Screaming Apple Rec.) 10,00 Euro
Look out, here come those Wildebeests again with a whole new bunch of tunes to make you the listener perk up and take heed. Whether it be 'rivvum and bloos', 'tank pok', 'instro-mental larkabout', or 'skewed sick-stays styled beat-noise', these Lairds can KO with the best of them, fuck it, let's make with the fact that The Wildebeests, the band that features (ex)-members of the MILKSHAKES, KAISERS and THANES, can knock any and all others off the blocks anyday, anywhere, and at anytime. After a pile of single, EP and album releases on Norton Records, Sympathy For The Record Industry and Smartguy Records in the US the Wildebeests have returned to Germany and Screaming Apple (who coincidently released their first single way back in 1995) to release this the groups 4th long-player.
WILDEBEESTS - I Feel Alright 7" (Teenage Kicks Rec.) 5,00 EUR
Much respected group of ex MILKSHAKES/THANES members doing rather damaged versions of the STOOGES' "I Feel Alright" and LINK WRAY's "Dinosaur". Rhythm and Punk they call it and nothing has to be added. Pressed back in 1995 by Teenage Kicks and a handful of copies were re-discovered recently.
WILD ZEROS - Same 10" (Frantic City Rec.) 10,50 Euro
Less than a year after they put out their first 4-track single (FRANTIC 006), the WILD ZEROS throw out 10 new tracks recorded with Lo'Spider in Toulouse on a neat-looking 10" vinyl limited to 300 copies! They took an organ instead of the second guitar and found about Fuzz and Tremolo, the guys are heading staight into the Garage but still have that 66/77 mix sound. Take the SONICS, SEEDS, LYRES, REAL KID, DEVIL DOGS, SUPERCHARGER and a handful copies of Back From The Grave or Psychedelic Unknowns comps, put everything into your mixer and now just think about the luscious mind-blowing cocktail you're gonna have!

WINKS - Too hot to be this cool LP (Rockin Bones Rec.) 10,00 Euro
They brings to mind the trashpunk of the BobbyTeens and early Donnas mixed with the wild raw of the VKTMS and
Deadly Weapons. Imagine Tura Satana from Faster, Pussycat! Kill! Kill! starting a punk band after too many tallboys
WIRE - Kidney Bingos 12" (Mute Rec., col. wax) 5,00 Euro
WiZZARD SLEEVE / TRUE SONS OF THUNDER Split 7" (Jeth-Row Rec.) 6,00 EUR
WiZZARD SLEEVE side (Setting Fire To Your Loft) 8min of hate, puke, piss, bile and blackened synth/guitar murder.
TSOT side (Butt Bong) my favorite Memphis band flippering you down a 6 hour interstate trip to New Orleans in 4 1/2 min of mindfuckery scree and plod. If you think Einsturzende Neubauten is the sound of buildings collapsing, TSOT're like the sound of the clamor at the town meeting between the local politicians and the concerned citizens arguing over having the derelict buildings torn down. On drugs.

WIZZARD SLEEVE - Make The World Go Away LP (HoZac Rec.) 15,90 EUR
Just as the harrowing chill of summer's slow death drifts across the land, the skin-crawling death-punk masterpiece debut LP from Alabama's confederate glue-wave goth 'tards, Wizzard Sleeve hits the shelves and drags all the sinister vibrations from the ugly side of psychedelia right up front where it belongs. As their influences have cited, and the self-described trinity of Chrome, Crime and Creedence settles into place in your chemically-damaged skull, and the unexpectedly danceable hits from their string of vile, self-depricating 7" singles are reborn with a devastatingly murky effect that will drag you down into a hole faster than any over-the-counter anti-anxiety cocktail you've ever ingested. Like Peter Murphy sucking on a tailpipe, Wizzard Sleeve are the end of the line for your happy good times and the start of a new atrocious standard in head-expanding, zooed-out and shut-in true punk weirdness that won't be getting many brownie points with mom, dad, church leaders, or parole officers anytime soon.
WOLFBRIGADE - Comalive LP (Deranged Rec.) 12,50 EUR
WOLFBRIGADE - Comalive CD (Deranged Rec.) 12,00 EUR
The 5th album from the Scandinavian hardcore steamroller with 14 new tracks of down tuned crustcore blasts. Their strongest studio recording since the excellent “ALL DAY HELL”, ‘COMALIVE” finds the band in peak form blending obvious elements of POISON IDEA, MOTORHEAD, DISCHARGE, and death metal.
WOMEN - No Reasons LP (FDH Rec.) 12,50 EUR

WOMEN - Same 7" (FDH Rec.) 5,00 Euro
6 song debut 7" from Philly's best punk band WOMEN. To me they sound like a mix of 70's UK punk and late 90's RIP OFF record style garage (mixed with early 80's hardcore is sure to leave you wanting more). Be your own judge and stop by the FDH myspace page to hear a tune.
WONTONS - Karaoke night 7" (Screaming Apple Rec.) 4,00 Euro
WOODEN TIT - Sechs Lieder 10" (Red Lounge Rec.) 9,90 EUR
DON HOWLAND is still the greatest when it comes to Blues Punk Trash..and this stuff is as good as his best stuff on In The Red with the BASSHOLES!!!
WOODENTOPS - Hypno Beat LP (Rough Trade Rec.) 5,00 Euro
WORMEATERS - In God We Thrust 7" (Hardware Rec.) 4,50 Euro
Hailing from New Brunswick, NJ those dudes pull up some of the most pissed off, raw hardcore you've heard in ages. "In god we thrust" contains 5 songs of literally sheer brutality. Influences range from early SHEER TERROR to CITIZENS ARREST and even older stuff like NEGATIVE APPROACH or YDI.
WOUNDED LION - IVXLCDM LP (In The Red Rec.) 15,90 EUR
The group’s sophomore album IVXLCDM is a total ripper. The Lion has grown smarter and meaner with the addition of Lars Finberg (chief Intelligence officer, original pounder for the A-Frames, and current drummer #2 for Thee Oh Sees) nailing it behind the drum kit and adding rich, fucked-futurist guitar action. Recorded by the singular Chris Woodhouse (Mayyors, Karate Party, etc.), the LP sounds dense and purposeful, with clattering, duel-Telecaster strum, tube-amp hum and feel-it-in-your-chest kick drum. IVXLCDM is without a doubt one of the best records of 2011—not just from Los Angeles or the underground, but from the entire spectrum of activity of living things in the universe.
WOUNDED LION - Friendly? 7" (In The Red Rec.) 5,90 EUR
Los Angeles' favorite sons latest single appears on their new home, ITR. One incredible original, one Wild Man Fischer cover and one from CCR. One of the best live bands in the world today. Equal parts VU, Mary Chain, New Creation, Modern Lovers, The Clean and just great music in general.
WOUNDED LION - Same LP (In The Red Rec.) 14,75 EUR
Los Angeles gets a bad rap. The city is known for shallow glitter, brutal cops and urban unrest--and sure, the stereotypes are sometimes accurate, but there are also lots of everyday folks, living unpretentious everyday lives. It's also true that Los Angeles is famous for a healthy underground music scene, both in the past and in the present. Take the everyday folks and drop them into an underground scene and you get something like WOUNDED LION, a great no-frills band that sounds fresh, even when they remind one of classic American Power-Pop of the '70s. Inspired by The VELVETS, The CRAMPS, The CLEAN and The VASELINES (as well as Credence Clearwater Revival and Kleenex), WOUNDED LION is regularly seen at Los Angeles haunts such as Mr. T's BOWL, The SMELL, The SCENE and SPACELAND. Their hum-inducing, toe-tapping tunes wiggle their way into your brain and have you singing their choruses at the grocery store or waiting in line at the DMV. The band's formula is relatively simple: shambling, alternately silly and poignant songs that bend and twist timeless Pop hooks. The bass and guitars belch out raw distortion, lending the music a primitive quality, but a whimsical sensibility elevates the abrasiveness to a jubilant level. Wounded Lion writes Power-Pop songs that celebrate the unrefined, dispensing with ego and tapping into the primal areas of the brain. LP version includes free download coupon!!!
WOVEN BONES - Your Sorcery 7" (Sweet Rot Rec.) 5,50 EUR
In my humble opinion, "Your Sorcery" is the best song Austin's WOVEN BONES have committed to wax so far in their brief career. Its crazy tight rhythm section keeping everything grounded, perfect guitar tone, and just enough 'tude in the vocals should keep you spinning it over and over and over again. The flip "Howlin Woof" relaxes the intensity a bit but succeeds just as much with its slow-burn approach. Previous 7"s (including a split with the JACUZZI BOYS) were on Hozac and Needless and an LP is upcoming from Hozac! http://www.myspace.com/wovenbones
WRONG WORDS - Same LP (Trouble In Mind Rec.) 14,90 EUR
For those of us who take our record collection maybe a little too seriously, it’s a comfort when a band just seems to get it. While there isn’t much left to be said about the current music scene in San Francisco (where The Wrong Words hail from) we like to think they have combined all of its best elements (power pop, punk and a dab of flower-psych) on this amazingly solid debut LP. Recorded by Greg Ashley of The Gris Gris and mastered by Mikey Young of Eddy Current Suppression Ring, The Wrong Words have been referred to as a “West Coast Gentleman Jesse”. While there is no denying the Californian influence, there is a midwestern blue collar pop feel as well a’la The Scruffs or more than a few tracks off of the Yellow Pills comp. RIYL: Gentleman Jesse, Jaill, XTC, Nick Lowe, Barracudas
